Shiny Village
active since 1996, is our water-sanitation program that contributes to the construction of wells for Ugandan rural communities, with the aim of improving their living conditions
Wells
The Shiny Village project, through the construction of 320 artesian wells, has so far enabled around 350,000 people to obtain the necessary water supply independently.
Drinking water
The construction of deep wells allows the extraction of drinking water, without additional treatments.
These interventions have many effects on the daily lives of the communities.
Benefits
Diseases transmitted due to lack of personal and community hygiene. The infant mortality rate due to these diseases decreases. The time taken every day for the collection of water decreases.
Time
As a result, children and women no longer need valuable time to recover water, giving young people the opportunity to regularly attend schools and women to exploit their time more constructively and economically.
